Your Questions and Our Answers

Have questions about climbing Kilimanjaro with us? Explore our Lemosho Route FAQs below for clear, helpful answers. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, feel free to reach out—our mountain experts at Asili Climbing Kilimanjaro are here to help you plan a safe, successful, and unforgettable summit adventure.

The Lemosho Route is widely considered the most scenic route on Kilimanjaro. It offers breathtaking views, low crowds during the early stages, and excellent acclimatization. With a gradual ascent and diverse landscapes, it’s ideal for trekkers aiming for a successful summit.

The route is moderately challenging but very manageable with good preparation. The 8-day itinerary allows for better acclimatization, increasing your chances of reaching Uhuru Peak without severe altitude symptoms.

Your climb includes professional mountain guides, porters, full camping equipment, meals, park fees, rescue fees, and airport transfers. Hotel stays before and after the trek can also be arranged.

You’ll sleep in high-quality four-season mountain tents, each shared between two climbers. Comfortable sleeping pads are provided. All camps are set up and packed down daily by our porters.

We recommend climbing during the dry seasons: January to mid-March and June to October. These months offer the best weather and visibility for scenic views and photography.

We keep our group sizes small—usually between 2 to 10 trekkers—to provide a more personalized experience and ensure safety and support throughout the journey.

You don’t need to be an athlete, but you should have a good level of physical fitness and be comfortable walking for several hours over consecutive days. We recommend training with hikes, cardio, and strength exercises several weeks in advance.

Our mountain chefs prepare hot, nutritious meals three times a day. Expect dishes like soups, pasta, rice, meat, vegetables, fresh fruits, and snacks. Special dietary needs can be accommodated with prior notice.

Yes. We treat and boil water daily from natural sources along the route. You’ll be given safe drinking water every day to refill your bottles or hydration system.

Safety is our top priority. Our guides are Wilderness First Responders (WFR) trained, and we perform daily health checks using pulse oximeters. Emergency oxygen and a portable stretcher are always carried. If needed, we arrange for rapid evacuation through official rescue services.
